Malaysia Matters began as an idea, and flourishes now as a project, because of a set of unusual and fortuitous circumstances. The site is sponsored by individuals who share an interest in Malaysia, and were willing to help bring Malaysia Matters to fruition.
Those working on this project include David All, Jerome Armstrong and Joshua Treviño.
Malaysia as a country is a testbed for democracy and tolerance in the Muslim world, and an instructive laboratory for the effects of trade and markets on society. As a major American trade and security partner, it deserves a closer look than our media gives it. In the coming months, we will be traveling abroad to Malaysia and writing about the experience, while covering the changes and issues in the country.
